There's always been an active Q3 FT scene in North America that which hasn't entirely migrated to QL FT. This all seems set to change as Reaper, the rest of SoG clan and a number of other Q3 FT clans are about to launch a Freeze League.

They play uFreeze rules, which is essentially an All Weaps mod that they can now replicate fully in QL. Reaper has asked us to see if there's any European interest in such a league and I think that the prospect of a proper ladder, regular competition and even prizes (!) is exciting.

I know that All Weaps might not be to everyone's taste, but our Monday night uFreeze sessions seem pretty popular and it would be great to actually play competively. There's no point just entering a team from Chill, cos we're huge and need some opponents :) Since many of us are in other clans anyway it would make sense to enter your other clan.

I'll probably put a scratch team together from Chill from any lonely souls that aren't in another Clan, and it's tempting to put together an Elite Force from -273 to take on NA's best. However, if you are in another Clan (for example ZMB, I'm looking at you :P), post below !

Everyone plays each other twice, once Home, once Away, with the home team picking the decider in a Bo3.

At a pinch, we could have our own EU settings, only we've never come up with a set that anyone can agree on after 18 months of playing :P. There is no such thing as 'The European Slim Weaps Freeze Tag settings'. At least uFreeze is a popular and well understood setup.

My inclination is to go all weaps and play the same settings as NA. The vanilla QL settings are terrible and should be avoided at all costs imo.

The settings proposed on planetfreeze or still under debate when it comes to changes to the weapons. The NA side will play ufreeze style tho. I suppose it would be possible to set up a ladder or league for a "slim" version but as for now i think we should try and get this going and see where it will go.

the vanilla ft settings are way better than this crap imo :P

i thought the reason for not agreeing on settings was the drop weapon/pu bug, which isnt a problem now when you can disable item dropping?

martinh - the settings might get tweaked a little, but it's a NA uFreeze competition so it's not going to turn into something dramatically different from All weaps, no thaw +etc. I don't think the weapon settings are right - 100 HP rail is way too much and I can't see the point of nerfing the PG either. Lobbying to get those changed is worthwhile I think

Not sure about the map pool - maybe we should start with some suggestions :)

I like the TDM maps, so Purgatory, Tornado, Dreadful Place, Intervention, Realm of Steel Rats, Grim Dungeons, Deep Inside, that sort of thing :)
