The weapon settings are most likely going to return to default. Most people that played this set up feel it changes gameplay to much and that will only throw people off.
Still allot of things have to be worked out so please be patient and information will get out asap.
Map pool is one of those things..
Question to consider... Do we play the maps with the weapons that they were designed for or do we play them with the standard ca collection regardless.
I feel that if a map doesnt have a railgun like realm of steel rats you shouldn't get one. Retribution shouldnt have lg, Grim Dungeons no plasma etc. etc.
Your imputs on this are apreciated.

hard to set it up like this, have to start a new match for every map... weaponstay is the closest setting i guess but then the gameplay will be different as well....
and docp, the changed weapons doesnt bother me much, the fact that you have all weapons and quad stays combo does, quad feels so op when you always have an lg in your hand imho.

Yes the downside to that is starting a fresh server for each map.
People have also suggested to remove lg as starting weapon so you need to find it first.
I feel that the quad staying and dropable is a must for this mod. It really can be a round/game turner. And loosing quad after 3 seconds because a round ends is just depressing..

ye i agree with that, but you can easily just run the spawnpoints with your lg which you always have if you have high stack and a quad i guess im just not used to the settings, have to play it some to get used to it but please just skip all the unranked settings, they are just confusing to us that are used to play quake live and not quake 3. and does damage through floors even work btw? tried it the other day and shot as a maniac in the ceilings without any result :S EDIT: missed the lg pat in your post xD maybe jsut lowering the starting ammo and make weapon respawn times longer, 15 sec maybe or even 40 sec like the ammo boxes? just some ideas you get spawn raped alot in this mod maybe spawn protection instead of the silly 25 armor?

I have been playing with the usa guys for over a year i think. In my experience its not so easy to get quad and be stacked in the first place. Its not like tdm where you try to stack up a guy. Besides that.. just running some spawnpoints doesnt really work in FT. Say you get quad and there is 1 guy left to kill. Finding him while your teammates guard the bodies can be a challenge. If you or your team then do find him they will all spawn in together full health and all weapons ready to trap you.
The reason it was unranked yesterday is that somehow air stepping was disabled. Not sure why that was done. In my opinion weapons and physics should stay at ql default cause yes, everyone is used to that.
Anyway.. the real question here is. Do we want to "nerf" the lg for this mod one way or the other or not. Yesterday we tried spawning in without lg but most of us felt it would be to easy to control lg and or favor the round winning team to much. I'll put your suggestions to the group to see what they think.
We tried spawnprotection a few times with different durations. I'm not sure about this but i didnt seem to work properly.. Like sometimes it did work and sometimes not. It certainly didnt improve the situation. So we decided that giving some extra armor is our best option for now. The spawn system is just broken for FT.. Nothing we can do about that besides keep pointing that out to id.
Damage through floors works but doesnt work anywhere eventho the floor seems thin.

air stepping was on yesterday, i did loads of jumps where its needed. thru floors is unranked, thats why the server was unranked i guess. why do we need damage through floors anyway?

I believe it was on in the original FT. Not really needed but not a huge gameplay changer either. Think of it as a small twist in the mod.. Personally i always forget about taking advantage of it..

The server settings are updated on planetfreeze.com. Weapons all back to default only plasma has some extra starting ammo. Enjoy!

i always do that extra jump on jump pads i dont know of any q3a mods with air stepping, think its a ql thing?

So, the idea is to get this underway in the next week or so. I'm going to suggest Monday nights as the default weekly match nights, but team captains are more than welcome to reschdule amongst themselves. As far as I can tell, there are rumblings from (q)drunk about a team, Nitrogen is secretly recruiting Chillers and I've decided to recruit kry and Mr_B against their will, along with myst_005 and maybe dafu ( none of them know this yet ) You need at least 4 in the team, and preferably 5 or 6 so you have cover. Do post here when you've got a team, cos it's a bit slow at the moment....

Signups for the EU league have been pretty disappointing. We (Chill that is) have got 2 full teams - n00brush and Smegheads, and o1219 might have a third. 4 teams (including terrorj's drunks) is pretty marginal. I think we'll give it a go anyway and see how we get on. The first match week will begin on June 25th, with Monday the usual match night.
