Beginners Guide
1. What is Freeze Tag?
Freeze Tag is a team based mode where your fragged or "frozen" team members may be revived. It creates a different feeling of game play from CA or TDM and new strategies have to be taken into account.
2. What are the basic rules of Freeze Tag?
The beginning round starts all team members with 125 HP, a Shot Gun and Plasma Gun. Your goal is to try and frag the other team. Once every member of a team has been frozen, the round ends. Any players remaining alive will retain all weapons, hp and armor. All frozen/fragged players will respawn with 125 HP, a Shot Gun and Plasma Gun. The first team to reach 10 points wins the match.
3. How does this "Freezing" thing work?
Once a player's HP reaches 0 or below, they are unable to move and become frozen. A player can only be thawed in three ways:
Basic Strategies
Remember, this isn't a simple run and gun game mode. This mode requires team coordination and even some stealth at times. Here are a few tips to help you get started in Freeze Tag.
1. Follow the yellow cursors.
The yellow cursors show the location of your team mates. If you know the
map well, you can determine where they are and run support them.
2. Thaw your team mates!
This seems like a no brainer, but I've played plenty of games where my team mate just whizzes by without an attempt to thaw me or my team members. If the other team has 6 players chasing after you, you run a much better chance of surviving or even winning the round if you thaw your team mates.
3. Follow the blue cursors.
A blue cursor indicates your friends are frozen. Use these cursors to determine their location and make an attempt to thaw them.
4. Avoid fighting near pits/lava/acid.
If you happen to frag your enemy during a fight, but the froze body just falls into a pit or into lava, then that opponent will respawn with probably more HP than you. If you are successful in freezing them, PUSH THEIR BODIES AWAY!
5. Push frozen bodies.
You can shoot (or use the gauntlet) to push a frozen body. This can be very useful to hide bodies or to place them in hard to reach spots. A personal favorite is pushing a frozen body onto a bounce pad to have them eternally bouncing.
6. Push frozen team mates into pits/lava etc.
A frozen body touching a hazard will thaw instantly. You won't receive an Assist medal, but you do get an extra team member to help win the round.
7. When to group/not to group bodies.
If you plan on grouping bodies together, be sure you have enough team members guarding the area. Otherwise you will have one opponent easily thawing many of his team members. If your team isn't the defending type, separate the bodies far apart and remember their locations. Once you hear the "enemy thawed" sound play, you know to run to an area to see if the opponent is attempting to thaw more of his buddies.
8. Do play near lava, pits, etc
If you find yourself on the losing end of a fight, make a dash for a near by hazard so that if your enemy freezes you, you may land on the hazard to thaw immediately.
9. Thawing techniques.
I call this tip stealth thawing. If a frozen body is near the end of a wall, you can easily peak from the side to thaw your team mate without alerting the enemy that you're there. You can also use the bodies as cover to hide or reduce shots taken. Also, you do not have to be still when thawing a body. Circling the body for three seconds (as long as you remain in range) will successfully thaw them as well. Remember, as long as there is at least one remaining member of your team alive, you have a chance of denying the enemy a point for the round.

1. A team member stands next to the player for three seconds.
2. The player is pushed into a harmful level area (acid, pit, lava, etc).
3. The round ends.
There is no auto thaw time and team members cannot thaw you by shooting you. A thawed player will respawn with 125 HP, a Shot Gun and Plasma Gun.
