This one goes out to all the Chills out there ! (that have signed up on the Proboards site). This is all regurge's idea / fault btw But it's a good one - a recap of everything that's been going on in the clan over the last week and notice of any upcoming events. If you don't want to receive it, just reply to me and I'll drop you from the dis list. So what's been going on ? This, that's what : King of the Chills
Martin's excellent idea for a duel compo has got underway with two matches played so far. DrZoid beat LukoTibak 2:0 on BloodRun and Toxicity and I overcame SunTzu on the same maps. Check it out here : challonge.com/kingofthechills SunTzu and Luko drop through to the bottom half of the draw and now really have to fight to progress. gl. Clanbase 4v4 iFT Scrim
vs Clan Smiley ! This Sunday 17th at 5:30pm UK time. So that's 6:30 CET. The full details are on clanbase : clanbase.ggl.com/warinfo.php?wid=10843413 They've picked DM6 as their map , and I kinda chose Hidden Fortress. Map three is the remainder after a drop & drop from Trinity, Quaratine and Leviathan. You've got to be registered as a member of Chill on Clanbase, so sign up if you want to take part in future wars. Martin, Kry, regurge and me are the 4 so far, but I'm sure we can fit Kanzo and Cat in if they're available. Regurge suggested getting some practice in first, so I'll set up a UK iFT server at 4:30pm for any Chills to give us a work out. Thursday night NA FT with SoG Clan
Uchi of SoG clan is setting up some Thursday night FT on New York servers, 8pm EST. All Chills welcome. qlchill.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=21 Other Stuff
Interesting post from SunTzu about playing with only one arm. Check it out and post if you have any ideas qlchill.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=19 Thats it !

So what's been happening this week then ? More King of the Chills stuff and a close iFT scrim against Smiley clan, that's what. King of the Chills challonge.com/kingofthechills This has really got underway this week. I won't list all the match results here since you can see them for yourself on the challonge website, but suffice it say that we're at the quarter final stage, with DrZoid and me duking it in the top half of the draw, along with PrimeV and Kanzo, and bullet vs Kry and Luko vs Martin doing it the hard way in the bottom half. There's a good chance that this time next week we'll know who the King of the Chills is ! It's been fun, especially since many of the matches have had quite a few spectators, with some good chat going on. It's not been quite Rapha vs Cooller, but it's had a good vibe. We should make this a monthly event I think. Clanbase iFT Scrim vs Smiley
This turned into a 3v3 cos QL was going through one of it's slowwwwww phases and they couldn't get their 4th player into the game. regurge, martinheterjag and Kry took them on in the first game on DM6. We started well, but eventually subsided 10:4 www.quakelive.com/#!profile/matches/regurge/2cd75956-6915-11e0-a908-001a6433f796/ft/1 The second game on Hidden Fortress was much closer and we took them to 9-9, before losing the last round www.quakelive.com/#!profile/matches/regurge/654ec886-6916-11e0-a908-001a6433f796/ft/1 regurge was our Man of the Match, and if you look at the links above you'll see why Martin, Kry and me have some catching up to do. Smiley didn't hang around afterwards for a few fun games, which was a bit odd/a shame, but there you go. Clanbase iFT Scrim vs NC
NC are bit more hardcore than Smiley, so we'll have to up our game. Scheduled for next Thursday - the 28th, at 7pm UK time (8pm european) : clanbase.ggl.com/warinfo.php?wid=10846222 NC have picked DM6 as their map, and I've gone for Hidden Fortress for ours (sound familiar ?). Clanbase members - mark yourself as available or not using the above link. Tx. FT Funwar vs Aero clan
Cript from Aero clan has tentatively suggested next Friday evening (29th) as a date for some FT action. Thanks to DrZoid for putting him on to us. They're not on any ladders, so no pressure, just fun . 4v4 FT on a private server, no mappool as yet. If anyone knows of any clans that'd like to play some iFT or FT, put them in touch. If we can get them onto the FraggedNation and clanbase ladders then that would be even more excellent. That's all for this week. I'm off to Euro Disney tomorrow, so wish me luck and try not to break QL while I'm away Richard

Busy day today, so this is a bit late. Lots coming up this week ! King of the Chills
PrimeV has made it through to the final, after putting Kanzo into the bottom half of the draw, then pasting me all over ztn and Toxicity. If the rest of us losers can sort out who's the bestest, then we can get the Bo5 grand final underway and crown our King. Get it on folks ! challonge.com/kingofthechills Wednesday iFT scrim
This sort of happened tonight. Next time I'll make it a 16 person server and restrict it to invite only, as opposed to friends only so we can give the regular war players a work out. 7-7:30pm every Wednesday. I'll try to keep the kids off the voice comms too Thursday Clanbase 4v4 iFT War
This Thursday ! The more of you that register on Clanbase the better, cos they're picky about letting non registered players compete in their wars, which is fair enough if their ladder is to have any point I suppose. Sign up here : clanbase.ggl.com/claninfo.php?cid=2047200 War details : 7pm UK time clanbase.ggl.com/warinfo.php?wid=10846222 Martin, kry, regurge and me are currently signed up, M45K is a possible and Kanzo might drop in. If we've got too many, we'll have to settle on some way of choosing a foursome. Any ideas ?? Mumble Voice Comms
Just a reminder about this. Finally got mine up and running (thanks Bullet), so check out kry's instructions and fix your mics ! We ought to try to use it in Clan Wars... qlchill.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=14&page=1#107 Friday Aero Clan FT Funwar
This Friday. Freeeeeze Taaaag ! Cript of Aero clan stopped by our iFT practice today, so it's good to know he's around I'll get a time arranged with him tomorrow. No sign up needed, just turn up Friday evening and get chillin. Saturday 6v6 CA vs I_AM Clan
A bit out of the ordinary, but why not ? PrimeV has sorted out some 6v6 CA for this Friday at 7pm. I'll be there. Let PrimeV know if you're interested, or check out the thread on our forums (if you can handle Martin's electrosynth comments ) qlchill.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=24&page=1 Red vs Blue
An idea from a while back which went quiet. If nothing crops up for next week how does next Weds (instead of the iFT scrim), or Thurs sound for some Chill only 4v4 FT ? We'll spin up a server and play til we've had enough That's all folks. gl and hf and remember not to let RL get in the way of QL.

The big news this week is that some Chill clan members have been asked to take part in beta testing some possible changes to Freeze Tag, but more of this later. First, a round up of last week's events. ClanWars
3 matches were scheduled against other clans this week : iFT Clanbase Ladder match vs NCThis was supposed to happen on Thursday, but QL was going through one of its moody phases and it never happened. We will reschedule it, but probably not for a couple of weeks. FT CTF scrim vs AeroThis got moved twice - once due to QL issues and once cos it clashed with our CA scrim. Eventually we got it underway, but it turned into a CTF match. Considering that we'd never played CTF together before, it went surprisingly well and we only lost 8:0 and 8:0 . It was fun, but it could have been better and we'll be making some changes to the way we organise these sorts of events in future. Our team was DocPossible, Martinheterjag, PrimeV and Uchimatamaster. Maps played were Japanese Castles and Courtyard. Gory details here : qlchill.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=clanwars&action=display&thread=46 CA Scrim vs I_AM5v5 on Black Cathedral & Overkill. CA is my weakest gametype and none of had played together before, but we gelled pretty well. In fact this was a historic encounter - Chill actually won it's first war !! Thanks to DrZoid, kanzo, PrimeV, Me and vibeus. www.quakelive.com/#!profile/matches/DocPossible/324bd02c-7358-11e0-a9b9-00259031fd90/ca/1 www.quakelive.com/#!profile/matches/DocPossible/ced45dde-735c-11e0-a9b9-00259031fd90/ca/1 The second game was particulary satisfying with a great comeback from 5:0 down. We figured out their tactics, adapted and crushed em Oh yeah ! Full report here : qlchill.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=clanwars&action=display&thread=26 Chill Wars
Nothing like a fight between friends King of the ChillsIt's getting down to the wire now. Just 2 matches left to play. I'm trying to avoid playing Kanzo, so you should still be reading about this in a month's time. If he does manage to corner me on a duel server this Friday, the scene will be set for the grand final against PrimeV. challonge.com/kingofthechills FFA FFT SundaysMartin's ridiculous FFA idea Superb fun . Open to all Chill members, every Sunday at 7pm UK time. The winner is whoever scores the most frags after 3 maps. Each week there's a different theme and the opening event was on Space maps. Space Chamber, Terminal Heights and Cobalt Station. After an hour of frenzied falling into the void (lol @ terminal heights noobery ) it was a tie between Raz0rblade and Vibeus. Martin produced an extremely fine drawing for the winners. If that's not an incentive to us all next time I don't know what is. Martin - you need to tell us what the maps we're playing this Sunday. img593.imageshack.us/img593/628/ffafftchamp01052011.jpg iFT Practice - TuesdaysBig plans to have teams for many gametypes and get everyone organised with regular practice sessions + an A team, with subs and a B team with subs for each +etc +stuff is very wonderful, but it's a lot to do all at once. We are fundamentally a freeze tag clan and our chief competitive game type is iFT, so despite the hiatus caused by FT beta testing (see below), I think we should stick to Tuesday night iFT practice (we moved this from Wednesday regurge cos a couple of people couldn't make it then). So next Tuesday, from around 7pm, I'll start up a 4v4 iFT server. If you're on the clanbase or fraggednation teams it would be good if you could make it. This will be our first, proper, regular practice session and we'll these matches to a) get better and b) figure out our top 10 (say) and from them, the top 4 on an ongoing basis. FT Beta Test
SyncError has been lurking around our irc channel on QuakeNet (#clanchill) and it turns out that he wanted some FT beta testers. Apparently they're trialling a bunch of possible changes to the game over the next week or two, though it's not clear when they'll actually release them, or even if they will at this stage. Looks like testers were accepted on a first come, first served basis, so bad luck to those of you that didn't get in. Don't take it personally. We're not really able to tell you what these changes are yet (the banhammer awaits), but they're far from being settled at the moment. You guys will be the first to know when they become official though. Or maybe a bit before While this is going on, I'm going to be spending most of my time on the test servers. Sync is fairly keen for us to actually do some testing and I get the impression that we'll get the chop if we don't This does mean that I won't be doing much in the way of normal Chill stuff for a week or two. Don't let that stop you sorting games and practice matches out tho + any scrims against other clans you can rustle up. Other Stuff - Scrim Demos and Screenshots
I've stupidy not been saving screenshots at the end of games. It would be nice to have permanent record of our awesome achievements in clan matches, FFAFFT and the final of KotC. If anyone's got any shots of our recent matches, especially the CA victory, can you let me have them ? Ta That's all for this week. gl & hf

This week saw the launch of ChillZero, the competition branch of Chill. w00t +etc ! More of that later, but first a round up of events over the last week, in random order Last Weeks Events King of The ChillsThe big event was the final of the King of the Chills. Kanzo mercilessly crushed me on Toxicity, then slapped down my attempt at a comeback on Aerowalk, before confronting PrimeV in the Bo5 final. He was on top form and won the title in three maps - Blood Run, Vertical Vengence and Furious Heights. Congratulations to PrimeV for getting to the final, but kanzo's going to be hard to beat next time round if he's in that kind of form. I've even bought a trophy, which is being engraved as I type. The next KotC kicks off on June 1st, so register your interest and give your preferences for the map pool here : qlchill.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=chillwars&action=display&thread=66FFA FFT SundayNot quite so successful as the first FFA FFT - some confusion over map choice and server settings - 2x Quad and first to 30 frags was a bit unexpected Still, it was fun when we finally got going, with Raz0rblade tying with kanzo after 3 maps - Black Cathedral, Theatre of Pain and Almost Lost. Next Sunday's event clashes with our clanbase iFT War at 8pm, so we'll have to start it at 7pm sharp ! There's a slightly new format too - we'll first run a gauntlet only FFA on Arena Gate. First to 10 frags gets to choose the 3 maps and server settings (quad level, gravity, weapon switch speed +etc +whatever). It will be first to 50 frags tho. All Chills welcome iFT Practice TuesdayThis is currently our only regular, scheduled practice session. Once we've got a settled iFT team, we'll add some other gametypes on other days. Thanks to regurge, SunTzu, kanzo, malk and yahtzee for turning out. We stuck to the clanbase mappool initially and a pretty odd selection it is. Trinity is just not an iFT map... Still, we knocked some of the rust off and had 6 maps of insta freezey fun. Drunk Scrim, SaturdaySomehow, swampy managed to herd some drunks onto a server and we played a couple of CTF matches early Saturday afternoon. Considering it was our first ever attempt at CTF, we did pretty well, winning 8-7 on Inner Sanctums, then losing 8-4 on Rebound. PrimeV, Martin, Luko and me did the honours. They seemed to enjoy it too and it looks like we're having another one this Saturday at 2pm. CA and iCTF this time, with FT and iFT the week after. All welcome. Upcoming Events
I've already mentioned this Saturday's CA scrim against drunk, the FFA FFT madness on Sunday and the regular iFT practice on Tuesday, but there's more : 2v2 TDM TourneyThis is an Internal Chill competition. Let Martin know you're interested and either give him a list of your preferred partners or let him match you up with someone : qlchill.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=chillwars&action=display&thread=61 No start date has been set for this yet, but we don't need many more entrants to get it underway, so register soon ! iFT Clanbase War vs NC, Sunday 8pmOur second match on the clanbase iFT ladder, versus some serious opposition ! Clanbase members, please mark yourself as available, or otherwise here : clanbase.ggl.com/warinfo.php?wid=10886412 This immediately follows the FFA FFT Sunday match, so we can either use that to warm up, or leave early and get a bit of iFT in first. Miscellanea ChillZero -273So, as stated above, this is our 'pro' branch. Membership is already settled for now, but if you want to join up then you need to turn up regularly to Chill events and show yourself to be reliable and enthusiatic. Anyone in Chill can enter our internal scrims - KoTC, FFA FFT and the upcoming 2v2 TDM competion - all organised by martinheterjag btw. Maybe he needs to be made the Chill Competion Tsar ? Competitors for ladder matches will be drawn from ChillZero members only and they'll get first bite at any other casual scrims with other clans too. Well, that's it for this week. Remember to drop by #clanchill on irc (webchat.quakenet.org if you haven't got an irc client). Happy Fragging Richard

Post by Doc on May 24, 2011 22:39:24 GMT 1
The big news this week is that the 2v2 TDM tournament is good to go ! Last Week's Events Clanbase iFT ladder match vs NCNC clan have been playing iFT ever since it was invented (have a look on youtube for some of Turbulence's NoGhost FreezeRail vids). We played them on the FraggedNation ladder a while ago and lost 10:0 and 10:1. Things weren't quite that bad this time. Things weren't particularly good either tho . Perhaps warming up with the FFA FFT tourney beforehand was a mistake... We lost 20:5 on DM6 : www.quakelive.com/#!profile/matches/DocPossible/7ac8549c-7f29-11e0-8332-00259031fd90/ft/1 Then they warmed up and thrashed us 20:3 on DM20 www.quakelive.com/#!profile/matches/DocPossible/71a378a4-7f2b-11e0-8332-00259031fd90/ft/1 I'm off to the box of shame for a while to live down that particular performance. Though rather fantastically I didn't come bottom. kanzo's zero thaws means he also goes in the box of shame. A different one to mine - it's too small for two. Props to regurge (man of the match), kanzo and PrimeV for pitching up. I'd like to arrange some fun scrims with NC sometime. It would good experience and they're a decent bunch. FFA FFTThe third weekly FFA tourney and the first to use the new format. Raz0rblade pipped me to 10 Gauntlet frags on Arena Gate and picked Focal Point as the first proper map. Gaunt only again ! Crazy man beat me into second, again He was supposed to pick the next map too, but gave me the honour - low grav rapid weapon switch on Terminal Heights for the lulz. Aryx only turned up for this last map and strolled to victory with 26 impressives and 52% RG acc. The iFT team had to bail at that point and I think that was it, so if we take all 3 maps into account we find that the winner is...... Raz0rblade. Again ! See here for the top 6 : qlchill.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=chillwars&action=display&thread=60&page=5 Drunk ScrimMore antics with drunk clan on Saturday. For some reason, we were on tip top form and triumphed in iCTF, CA (until kanzo swapped sides - looks like he was our X factor ), and then in FT : qlchill.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=clanwars&thread=55&page=3#851 Upcoming Events
Looks like we're settling into a regular routine, which is nice : Drunk Scrim. 2pm SaturdayDespite our rough treatment last time, the drunks have taken solace in the bottle and want more ! It's our turn to pick maps and stuff. We could start with some FT and see how it goes. If it looks like being uneven again, we'll mix the teams up a bit and maybe fit some CTF in too. FFA FFT. Sunday at 7:30pmA bit later this week, since people gradually joined in as we went along last time. This week's gauntlet map (to decide the next 3) will be on Power Station. Oh yes. With Quad iFT Practice Tuesday at 7pm4v4. Let me know if you're interested in this. We'll concentrate on the FraggedNation maps I think - Overkill, Campgrounds, Almost Lost, Cold War and Tornado. More clans are joining the FN ladder, so it would be good to get prepared before issuing any challenges 2v2 Team Death Chill
This gets a big section all of it's own Martin and I have divvied up the teams : qlchill.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=chillwars&action=display&thread=69&page=1We've tried to make the overall team skills as close as possible, using our indepth knowledge of your skills in completely different game types... There are 7 teams in total. While we're sorting out the draw, get together with your better half and get practising. The prizes will be amazing * * There will be no prizes. That's if for this week. I'm going to try to play a bit more FT over the next few weeks, get some servers running, make some popsicles. See you out there Richard

I'm back after a lovely week of hiking, drinking and sleeping. Hope you all missed me , or at least managed to keep yourselves amused. I'll keep this one short. Suffice it to say that there are no big Clanwars lined up at the moment, but there's enough stuff going on inside the clan to keep us busy, plus the iCTF Nations Cup wot some of us may or not end up playing... QL UpdateThere was quite a major update while I was away. The details are here : www.quakelive.com/forum/showthread.php?15457-Site-Update-May-31-2011 It looks like quite a few of the focus group changes got implemented for Freeze Tag, but I haven't had a chance to try them out yet. Nice to see FT getting some attention from ID. King of the ChillsThe KotC2 duel competition is up and running, with the first match played already : Luci spanked Akilles in two close games : 6-4 on Solid, then 13-9 on Phrantic. She now goes on to face martin in the next round, while Akilles drops thru to the bottom half of the draw. I've been told that Luko's going to take on feralfoxes tonight at 9pm CEST. I'll be watching to cheer you both on, but for me the pick of the round (apart from kry vs me ofc) is the vibeus vs kanzo match. Should be entertaining ! Check out the website for the draw : challonge.com/kothc2 Team Death Chill 2v2 TDMLooks like this is going to be harder to arrange than the duel match (as some people have pointed out). No matches played yet, so lets see if we can get one or two in this week challonge.com/tdchill On topic - a quick plug for my mate Diplodok's brand new 2v2 TDM frag movie : www.youtube.com/watch?v=Af39MTuE9yk&hd=1 FFAFFTRunning this weekly has robbed it of some of the novetly and funness, with numbers declining somewhat recently. I propose that we move it to just once a month, making it a bit more of a special occasion. iFT practiceEvery Tuesday. Starting some time after 7pm (7:15 ish ?) for about an hour. Other StuffStill looking for someone to come up with a backdrop for the youtube site and the proboards site. A logo would be nice too. Something simple... QL OlympicsCheck out this post for something a bit different. It's not supposed to be a CPMA kind of thing, just something fun : qlchill.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=96&page=1#1238 That's it ! Main events this week are KotC and TeamDeathChill matches, with some iFT ladder matches to come. Duel and Team Death Match King of the ChillsTwo matches this week, with Luko bravely facing FeralFoxes, going down 2:0 on Concrete Palace and Hektic. Mr_B then decided to double the number of duels he'd ever played and attempted to avenge Luko. This went about as well as one could expect, with a close game on Lost World, before a more gruesome match on Fatal Instinct. Congratulations to FeralFoxes for storming through to the quarter finals. This weeks matches will hopefully see Lucinda take on Martin, me attempting to duff up kry and kanzo taking on vibeus with any luck. gl everyone (expect kry). challonge.com/kothc2 Team DeathChillWe saw our first 2v2 TDM match last week, between the team kanzo and SunTzu (Blue) and the turtl3 + adjukka (Red) machine. kST took the first match on Devilsih 53-42, with a strong comeback by Blue towards the end. Blue seemd to enjoy DM6 tho, and took the last match 53-36 on Campgrounds. It would be great to get some more of these games : challonge.com/tdchill Clanbase 4v4 TDM ladderIn case you didn't know, we're on a Clanbase 4v4 TDM ladder . It's a busy looking ladder. I'm not intending to make any challenges on it in the near future, but if we have a quiet week we could have a pop. Let me know if you're interested. iFT Clanbase ladder challengeI slighty f*cked up this week and failed to spot a clanbase iFT ladder challenge from Royal Elite (*RE*) clan. This is Urky's lot, so apologies to you and all others concerned. I intend to rearrange it for next Tuesday (the 21st) at 7:30 UK time. My current line up for this match is regurge, kanzo, me and Mr_B. Tuesday Night Practice. 7:30pmThe Clanbase ladder is seeing a lot more activity with several new clans registering recently, so hopefully we'll get some games in soon. The FraggedNation ladder also has a couple of teams eligible for a challenge, so us -273 members better get practicing ! My kids are going to bed a bit later so if it's ok with everyone I'll move it back to 7:30pm, rather than 7pm. If that's a pain, just start without me. It'll be slightly more formal for the next few weeks : 4v4 with Chill Zero members making up the two teams if possible, with some attempt to work on team play as well as focusing on the ladder maps. I've also sent an invite to Mr_B to join ChillZero. Many of you will have played with him and I'm sure you'll agree that he's a good bloke and a strong contender for the iFT team. FT
More casual FT for the general Chill crowd is needed. I'm going to make a habit of jumping on an empty pub FT server in the evenings when we haven't got anything else on, and I'm going to try to restart Freeze Tag Fridays. It is what the clan was founded for after all. Note FT, not iFT. FT irc channelThere's a new FT channel in town, in addition to the old #tdmpickup channel, so check out #ql.FT for games and pickups. It's early days, but hopefully it'll take off. FFA FFA FFTBack on this Sunday, at 7pm UK time. 3 Premium maps this time . The winner of the 10 frag Gauntlet fight on Almost Lost gets to pick the maps. Standard settings this time tho - the kink is that they're Prem maps, and no-one plays FFA on them. Other stuff Drunk ScrimThis is pretty good fun - 3pm every Saturday UK time. It's a mix of games and locations (occasional action on US servers when swampy can stop his PC from exploding for long enough ). Rather then play as a strict Chill vs Drunk scrim, we should treat this as just a relaxed way to play with some good peeps from another clan and make sure we mix the teams up. So if you fancy some random, relaxed mucking about on a Saturday, stop by and join in. That's all I can think of right now, so make sure you drop by the forum once in a while and remember to keep your eyes on the skies. Richard

To quote Skipper the penguin, this one's going to be cute and cuddly, boys. Duel King of the ChillsThis is slowly inching along, with two games so far this week. Lucinda took on martinheterjag for a place in the quarter finals. To quote martin : i got 2-0ed but both matches was super close i had the lead first mins on phrantic then luci had TEH comeback and crushed me like an ant hektik ended as a 1 pt match with me hearing her spawning just around the courner the last sec ^^ Bad luck martin, but it's nice to have some close games in KotC at last. Well done Luci. Keep it up girl kry and I finally locked horns last night. I took Phrantic 9-7 in overtime (ooo !). Then kry toasted me on Fatal Instinct (28-12) and Hektik (18-5). challonge.com/kothc2 Martin's punishment for losing to Luci is to face the loser of the kanzo / vibeus match. And I get to take on Mr_B. Ini the interests of getting KotC finished, can we try to get a few more games in next week ? Next time I think we'll forfeit entrants if they can't complete a match within a week say. This means I'd have gone through while kry was lurking in his summer cabin iFT Clanbase ladder matchesWe nearly had two matches this week . We put in a much improved show against -NC- clan on Sunday. They picked Retribution, which we lost 20-12, after running into all sorts of problems with players losing connection to the server. It was a closer match than the score suggests and when I dropped out for kry on Leviathan, we took them to 20-15. This is a huge improvement over our humble beginnings in iFT. If we carry on like this we might start winning matches ! My man of the match was Mr_B, with the usual solid performances from kanzo and regurge. kry and I filled in the awkward fourth spot. www.quakelive.com/#!profile/matches/Mr_B/13099d28-9ab5-11e0-9fc4-00259031fd90/ft/1 www.quakelive.com/#!profile/matches/Mr_B/468ef9f0-9ab9-11e0-9fc4-00259031fd90/ft/1 We should have played *RE* on Tuesday, but they couldn't quite get 4 players together in time, so we just mucked about a bit instead. We'll probably try again next week Just to remind you, the current iFT A team consists of regurge, kanzo and Mr_B with the fourth spot filled either by me, martin or kry at the moment. If you want to challenge for one of these spots, you need to turn out to the regular Tuesday night iFT practice. We will start scheduling another iFT practice night at some point soon. FT Freeze Tag FridayCasual FT for all This went pretty well last Friday, with quite a few folk turning out for some public server FT fun. I'm away this weekend, so if someone else would like to volunteer to kick it off, that would be great. NA Freeze TagCheck this post - [SOG] are hosting regular FT games in North America : www.quakelive.com/forum/showthread.php?16267-Improved-Freeze-Tag-Mode-Come-Join-us!!!&p=144780&viewfull=1#post144780 FFA FFA FFTA small, but loyal turnout. I enjoyed it anyway DarKrail won the Gauntlet fragfest on Almost Lost and picked Overkill, Battleforged and Deep Inside as the three maps. kanzo blitzed home by some way. I'll update the forums with the official scorecard later today (probably). Next tourney in a month ! Other stuff

Lots of Insta stuff this week and some awful KotC news. I'm out iFT Tuesday PracticeWe had a really good iFT practice session this week. Thanks to all those who turned out and to kanzo and regurge for captaining. We only had time for two maps - Leviathan and Retribution, but it was quality stuff. We'll keep this format for the forseeable future I think, sticking to the maps that are in the clanbase ladder : Campgrounds Quarantine Hidden Fortress Trinity Leviathan Retribution Grim Dungeons Almost Lost Overkill Lost World I've got a soft spot for Leviathan. Most other clans seem unfamiliar with it and given that they're generally more experienced than we are, that's a big plus for Leviathan imo. Upcoming match vs StrafeThisThis looks like being on Monday, at 8pm. Here's the link to the War so you can signal your availability : clanbase.ggl.com/warinfo.php?wid=10957388Maybe this'll be the our first win on the ladder iCTF
We're signed up and ready to go on the ClanBase 4v4 iCTF Summer Cup : clanbase.ggl.com/news_league.php?lid=12138Looks like it's pretty popular, with 16 clans registered so far. It kicks off on July 11th and finished on August 28th, so I'm putting on a regular, weekly iCTF practice session on Thursday evenings, from 7:30pm UK time. It'll follow the same format as the iFT session - tight stuff, 4v4 with two captains picking teams and maps chosen from the cup list. Check out the thread on the forum for more detail : qlchill.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=clanwars&action=display&thread=106 Duel - KotC2
This is limping along, tho I'm not, after Mr_B soundly whipped me 2-1. He won Lost World, I recovered to win on Concrete Palace (cos he didn't know the map ), then I got stuffed on Phrantic. wp and all that It would be good to get the quarter finals sorted out this week, so get together and get it on ! FT
CSN are running a Freeze Tag show cup, with preselected captains and teams : cyber-sports.net/node/10081 Apparently it's going to be streamed, so it should be worth a watch. Also, since I'm around this Friday, I'll kick off another Freeze Tag friday for the benefit of the (non) paying public. Other Stuff
The white nights are affecting kry's brain and he's come up with this awesome idea - Saturday Night Fever ! Basically a Chill DevPick : qlchill.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=chillwars&action=display&thread=109Maybe we'll run one of these this Saturday... That's all folks. Keep it frosty ! Richard

Things wot have happened and things that have yet to happen. + other things. Last Week's Events
A quiet week last week, at least for 'official' clan stuff, with the FFA FFT tourney on Saturday being cancelled due to a clash with -FFA- clan's big bash. Drunk Scrim, SaturdayI'm not sure how to report this, given that I dusted off my drunk clan tag and pitched up for the opposition . Well it still went 3-0 to us (or you, if you're being pedantic), with us drunks folding quickly on Japanese Castles, even quicker on Ironworks, before finally throwing a few punches on Troubled Waters. Next week and swampy's going to start a server in the US for the match. I'll be away, so it's up to kry or kanzo to point everyone in the right direction. Cheers to SunTzu, kanzo, PrimeV, kry and martin for doing the business. iFT Practice, TuesdayWe graciously provided warmup fodder for -NC- clan and I certainly found it helpful. 4v4 on Intervention started badly, but we really pulled it together at the end, going from 19-5 to 20-10. PrimeV, myself, regurge and LukoTibak sat out the next match and let turtl3, uchimatamaster, kanzo and martin loose on a now warmed up NC. US pings turned out not to be an advantage either . Overkill lived up to it's name and we went down 20-1. Personally I found I really useful to spec NC players, to get some idea of how it's really done. Upcoming Events
No competitions arranged, so it's the usual stuff. I'll be away, so I need someone to volunteer to look after the following : FFA FFT on Saturday, starting at 7:30. First to 10 in a gauntlet fight decides the format and choice of the next 2 (or 3 if you're having fun) maps. Drunk Scrim - all over to swampy's for beer and chips ! 2pm Saturday. iFT Practice Tuesday. 4v4. Teamwork ftw ! Team Death MatchesThe only explanation for this is that... there is no explanation. Now that's either profound or stupid, but either way we've got two 2v2 TDM things going on. Oh yes ! One is a Tournament - Team Death Chill. This is a knockout competition, with teams assigned by Martin and myself, using the Challonge site again : challonge.com/tdchill This is up and ready to go, so get going ! The other is a 2v2 ladder set up by kry - Chill Wars and is hosted on Fragged Nation, with whatever teams you like : www.fraggednation.com/standings.php?ladderID=4435 There's some nice teams on there now - cute names and froody logos . This is also ready to rock and it's never to late to join, being a ladder and all that. Other Stuff Clan GearSo I found a really cool T shirt recently. I intend to wear it for all major clan events Turtl3 found an even cooller one. Check the thread for the full horror here : qlchill.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=81Fragged NationJust a reminder to encourage you to sign up on Fragged Nation and join Chill clan on there too : www.fraggednation.com/clans/ClanChillThe more members we get, the more fun we can have with ladders and stuff and you need to have a FraggedNation account anyway to play in our 2v2 TDM ladder... irc ChannelsApart from our particularly incredible channel on Quakenet (#clanchill), it's worth joining #instagib.ql if you like iFT or iCTF. There are regular pickup games to be found here and you'll find the standard to be pretty good. Clan LogoIf anyone wants to volunteer to provide a clan logo and backdrop for the website that would be teh bestest thing ever ! If not, we'll carry on as we are, logoless and doomed to display a plain white background . Forever. You may have picked up that I'm away all next week, so have fun and try not to break the clan, or QL while I'm gone. gl and hf Richard
